March 2010
Recently, the NCC leaders decided to make a more intentional effort at reaching out to newcomers to our area. This outreach effort involves an introductory mailing to all families on our newcomer list (on average, about 250 different families each month!). Under-girded by prayer for these families, it is our desire that we make known the grace and truth of our Lord Jesus Christ to a larger group of those in need of salvation in Christ. Would you make this outreach effort a regular part of your prayers as you think about NCC’s part in God’s kingdom work? Thank you for helping to reach those who need to know our Savior in this way.
Though illness (and the fact that is was Super Bowl Sunday) affected the size of the group able to attend the Missionary Night a few weeks ago, the Lord still blessed us with a sweet time of fellowship that night. I will always remember the time I spent on this once-in-a-lifetime trip. Indeed, the work my brother and sister-in-law are doing is unique and very, very needed. Would you continue to uphold them in prayer as they minister for Jesus’ sake in Germany? Would you also ask the Lord to open the hearts of those they are trying to reach with the Good News of Jesus Christ? I hope we will be able to host Jimmy & Naomi for a Missionary Presentation night either later this year or sometime next year. Stay tuned for more on this later.
Speaking of outreach to those who need Christ (whether it been in North Texas or across the ocean), let’s keep these words of Jesus continually before us: “But you shall receive the power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth” (Acts 1:8). And remember, ‘Go Ye,’ means ‘Go Me!”
In Jesus’ love,
David
